The april 18, 2025
In these times of economic instability, French savers are increasingly concerned about the security of their assets, and the Sapin II Law regularly resurfaces in financial discussions. But what is the real role of this law, and what is its scope? Can the French State dip into our savings? The Finankap Group team takes a closer look.
Enacted in 2017, the Sapin II Law aims to increase transparency and fight corruption in economic and public life. To meet these major challenges, it introduced several key measures, including:
• The creation of the French Anti-Corruption Agency (AFA), which guides French companies in implementing and monitoring anti-corruption frameworks.
• A set of standards imposed on large companies, built around 8 pillars, making them active participants in the fight against corruption.
• Powers granted to the High Council for Financial Stability (HCSF) to intervene in French savings in times of crisis.
